One could almost believe that one was alone in the world – that’s how secluded the Waldhaus Ohlenbach on the southern-facing slope of the Kahlen Asten mountain is. All of the hotel rooms face the south or south-east and provide a wide view across the hilly forests of Hochsauerland. It is marvellous to swim, relax and take a sauna in the wellness & spa forest attraction. A heated Finnish chalet amidst the greenery awaits your visit. Shielded by a grass roof, you can jump into the icy spring water after the hot 95 °C – only being watched by a few curious squirrels if anything. Natural products made from herbs, oils and earth rich in minerals cater for beauty and wellness in the beauty area. Pure nature even right at the doorstep: Hiking routes, mountain bike tours and Nordic walking trails lead off into the vastness of Hochsauerland, which is usually snowed in in the winter and then fascinates skiing fans.

Environment

The “Ohlenbach” is situated between meadows and woods in the Rothaargebirge natural park in the Sauerland (North Rhine-Westphalia). A small street leads up to the house, which is located in the middle of nature, far from urban stress. Hiking trails; Nordic Walking routes; mountain biking trails pass behind the house.

The house organises regular cookery courses for its guests: Most of the products used in the kitchen are organic foods grown in the region. 50 % Greenfee reduction: golf courses of Schmallenberg and Winterberg.
