The Waske family happily welcomes their guests to enjoy the beauty of nature as much as they can. With assistance from the experts of the University for Applied Sciences in Eberswalde, and many other partners, the family has come up with an eco-friendly concept to follow in both life and work – and the result was the first carbon neutral hotel in middle Germany. All natural resources are used sensibly. The hotel's heating is provided by a wood pellets system, an organic waste water treatment plant delivers the clean processed surface water back to the hotel. This philosophy contains a clear message: Guests are to develop a sense for viewing nature as a precious gift that has deserved care and respect.

Environment

The hotel Naturresort Schindelbruch is located in its own idyllic wood below the extinct volcano of the Auerberg. The motorway A38 (Leipzig-Göttingen) is about 15 minutes from the house. Halle is 100 km away; Magdeburg is within a 1.5 hour drive.

Incentives

The flowstone cave „Rübeländer Tropfsteinhöhlen“ is millions of years old and hosts rare bats; the “Rappbode” dam is the largest dam in the Harz region; Castle Falkenstein dates back to 1115 and offers a falconry and a museum.
